Unnatural Terrain Environment

There be daleks in these Unnatural Terrain parts!

The Unnatural Terrain Environment Project was started in 1993 to produce graphics environments which could be used for research into procedural animation, AI directed motion, etc. Since we work closely with the School of Architecture and produce many fine raytracing and radiosity images, we can use their CAD systems to produce some of the environments. In exchange, their students can roam about the environments free of charge!

You may like to look at some of the images that have been produced under the umbrella of the Unnatural Terrain Environment (UTE) project. You can also view a number of technical papers and movies.

There are a number of sub-projects underway :

Bill Wong (Honours: Human animation)
Mark Sheridan (Honours: Hair Modelling)
John Mee (Post-Graduate: Flocking and Synthetic environments)

Documentation and source code for the XUTE system is also available.
